Report: Ukraine not ready to export grain through Belarus
MOSCOW, Jun 6 (PRIME) -- Ukraine was not ready to export grain through Belarus, Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky told RBC on Monday.
"We were offered to go (export grain) through Belarus by railway. We even see the amount. But we understand why they suggested they do this. We are not ready for this format and to help our 'friendly' neighbors so far," Zelensky said.
Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko earlier offered Ukraine help with grain exports through its territory in exchange for opening of German, Polish, Baltic and Russian ports for Belarusian goods.
Zelensky also said that Turkey might become an intermediary in unblocking of Ukrainian ports for grain exports.
